In this Issue

SCREAM queen • From hauntings to murders, Victoria Pedretti—seen here in Fendi’s Winter capsule collection—is a modern horror darling whose on-screen roles are the perfect fright night companions.

Crushing IT • While Aspen has always been known as a winter playground for the upper echelon, a clique of high-powered art collectors and curators—and a summer season topped with a high-profile gala and auction benefitting the art museum—have turned this former mining town into a world class culture capital.

SENSORY awakening • Equally playful as it is precious, Cartier’s Sixième Sens high jewelry collection is a feast for the eyes. Each piece begs to be seen through a synesthetic lens—textures that entice us to savor the unique feeling of a divine necklace on skin or one-of-a-kind ring on a finger, all set with stones so rich you could almost eat them.

monotype • With sequins, leather, and a bit of an attitude, a serious palette becomes anything but boring.

GET A GRIP • Dressed up or down, in a neutral or pop of bold color, an elegant handbag adds an element of cool stability to any ensemble.

A Tale of THREE CITIES • For a long time, the art world corridor has been made up of a handful of major metropolises—New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin. The blue chip art fair scene added a few more stops on the circuit: Miami, Hong Kong, and Mexico City, to name a few. But as the art world was disrupted over the last 18 months, a new normal has set in, and once sleepier second cites have emerged as vibrant creative capitals. Independent galleries and experimental spaces abound, allowing a younger generation of artists to create, produce, and perform to a different kind of audience. Whether it’s a traditional buttoned-up European capital like Vienna supporting unorthodox new spaces and voices; an emerging Latin American city like Bogotá finding creative expression after years of economic and political turmoil; or a former backwater like Tbilisi, Georgia, turning a young, underground movement into a legitimate international scene, the grand tour is now truly global.

ART Decade • In the year of L’OFFICIEL’s centennial, L’OFFICIEL Art celebrates its own milestone: 10 years of cutting-edge art world coverage.

truth SEEKER • With high-profile roles in the newest Bond film No Time to Die and Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, Léa Seydoux lights up the big screen with glamour and vulnerability. Here, the actress is seen through the eyes of Leo Villareal on the River Thames in front of Westminster Bridge, part of the artist’s large-scale work Illuminated River.

UP in LIGHTS • From the desert of Burning Man to Miami’s Superblue immersive art show, light becomes rhythm in Leo Villareal’s monumental installations.

HOPE FLOATS • Like other art hubs, Venice is experiencing a renaissance. Along its canals, a new generation of visionaries are at the head of its rebirth.

the SPACE BETWEEN • Toba Khedoori’s wax-coated paintings, now on view in a survey show at the Fridericianum in Kassel, Germany, contemplate the everyday through their solitary, intricate renderings.

the ART of FASHION • From the beginning, fashion and art have intermingled, giving creativity and innovation a place in our everyday lives.

STYLE Odyssey • Fashion reaches otherworldly heights via sculptural details, sumptuous textures, and eye-catching...
